This week I have seen extraordinary beauty in God’s creation . . .
Cascading waterfalls and rushing streams filled to the brim from the melting mountain snow.
The setting sun turning the snowcapped mountains a brilliant pink.
Scarlet rocks rising high above me.
Grazing deer.
A lone crane standing in the shallows and a peregrine falcon swooping down right in front of us.
Aspen trees sprouting their new neon green leaves.
Experiencing the spectacular beauty of God’s creation this past week was amazing but this beauty doesn’t compare to the beauty of . . .
. . . hearing an African woman inviting Jesus into her life. . . discovering a kindred spirit in the heart of a woman who doesn’t even speak my language. . . Indian women so passionate about learning how to share the gospel that they will travel miles and miles to hear. . .
. . . seeing a Zambian boy, walking, running and talking, no longer hindered by a disabling brain tumor. . . Indian men and women renewing their marital vows. . . African women praising God in beautiful rich harmonies. . . The roar of children receiving one simple soccer ball. . . a Dominican woman cooking a simple but extravagant meal for me in her humble home.
This week, I’ve enjoyed my time away from all that is familiar and I’ve loved exploring God’s incredible creation. But I’m even more excited about seeing and experiencing His beauty in the hearts of women around the world. I can’t wait to go! I can’t wait to encourage, challenge and empower these women.
After taking several missions trips this past year, God made it evident that He was calling me to serve women around the world by teaching and training them to share the gospel, study God’s Word, and empowering them to train the women in their communities to do the same.
My heart is for the women of the world. I was recently accepted as a missionary with EFCA ReachGlobal. And am now in the process of gathering a tribe of people around me to support this ministry through prayer and financial contributions.
